Stripping off the old chipboard from the Scout Hut, Cheadle when it has rotted away from extensive water damage.
Re-insulating a roof once the old chip board has been removed.
Plywood the old roof to the existing joist using 65mm nails.
When the boards have been replaced and the loose layer stapled down, we then apply the waterproof membrane using the traditional roll and pour method.
This is how we finish a roof against a brick wall. All that's left to do is silicone and finish with a mortar weather point.
At the very end, the roofs are topped with a 6mm limestone which is stuck in a bonded glue.

Before: This is before the new roof was built.
Before: Here we can see that the roof has not been taken above the tiles, so any water would penetrate behind the flashing upstand.
Before: This needs completely stripping off and re-felting correctly.
Before: The felt had been finished to the neck of the roof but not underneath the lead valleys or tiles.
After: All finished under the tiles and lead valleys.
After: All stripped off and re-felted correctly.
After: Overall view of a very neat job and the customer in Poynton was very happy.

This is work on new build properties using insulation boards and lead spitters for the water to drain. This is after the boards were fitted the roof was felted using 3 layers of the polyester membrane and coated using the solar reflective paint.
This is a completed flat roof with a silver coat finish rather than chippings.
Silver coat paint was used as the lead spitters run onto a tile roof. This is to stop any chippings running down the roof into gutters below.
Although we always recommend using chippings, there are just some jobs where this is not appropriate. This roof at Woodford Community Centre was finished completely in Icopal green mineral felt.
